The Learning Curve "TLC" makes getting ready for school an adventurous journey. Our teachers use engaging instruction to foster curiosity and confidence. Research tells us that the more words young children know, use, and understand, the better prepared they will be for kindergarten and beyond. The Learning Curve opens a world of endless possibilities using play based learning.

What is Play-Based Learning? Play-based learning is an educational approach in which children learn by actively engaging in meaningful and developmentally appropriate play experiences. Rather than passively receiving information, children participate in hands-on exploration, experimentation, and social interaction. This approach helps children build vital cognitive, emotional, social, and physical skills.Imagine a child working in the explore our world corner, examining rocks, soil, and our insect neighbors.  A teacher would encourage the child to describe the different feel and appearance of what they discover and ask questions to encourage the child to express themselves, which leads to building a stronger, broader vocabulary.At the learning Curve, we believe in providing an environment that covers all the following developmental domains:

1. Cognitive refers to the process of learning, reasoning and problem-solving, and the development of age-appropriate skills in math, science, and the study of the world around us.  
   
   
2. Language and Literacy is all about verbal and non-verbal communication, plus the early skills needed to read and write!   
   
   
3. Physical, Motor, and Wellness includes physical health, self-care skills, nutrition, fine- and gross-motor skills, and use of the five senses. 
   
   
4. Social-Emotional skills include understanding and controlling emotions, developing empathy, building relationships, and gaining self-confidence. 
   
   
5. Executive Function is the ability to control impulses, build memory skills, and practice problem solving. 
   
   
6. Creative Expression refers to how children express themselves through music, movement, play, and more.
